This project also situated in downtown Lubbock Texas is a transportaion hub that functions as both a train station and as an art exhibit. This project was much larger in scale than the previous ones and forced us to find interesting ways to plan out parking and begin thinking about walking paths and how the building connects to the city and the site around it.

These plans are much more complex with a much larger square footage requirement than the art school, further expanding our ability to design and program spaces of varying sizes.

For this project we used strict structural system with two grid systems that when intersected created a unique visual and structural system that showed us how to layout a building within a grid system with an order.

Using a system of different wall types I was able to complement the structural system by framing the spaces based on what level of privacy would be desired within the building. This render was also my first attempt at using a detailed rendering software that used light, shadows, and materiality within the building.
